The science of balancing the body’s pH to maintain optimum health dates back to the late 1800s. A famous French research scientist named Atoine Béchamp is notorious for advancing this biology. After a century of suppression by the pharmaceutical and medical industry, many alternative doctors and health researchers are finally giving pH the attention it deserves, because of the profound impact they are finding it can have on the health of the planet.

In Béchamp’s research, he was able to show scientific proof that a proper acid-alkaline balance in the body correlates to a high state of health. In direct opposition to another well known scientist – Louis Pasteur – Béchamp discovered that it wasn’t germs that caused disease, but rather the inner condition of the patient, which is regulated by pH. Béchamp concluded that just as a slight variation in body temperature away from 98.6 degrees makes you sick, a slight variance in your body’s delicate pH balance will also throw your whole system out of balance and negatively impact your health. Béchamp observed under microscopic testing that viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungus and other micro-organisms all flourished and were present in the body when the pH became acidic.

Anyone with a swimming pool who understands pH knows that when pool water becomes acidic and the pH is out of balance algae and mold will form. Farmers know that if the pH of their soil is not properly balanced seeds will not germinate and they will get inferior crop production. The same things also occur in the human body.

One of the leading indicators of a health problem is when the body’s pH has gone from being slightly alkaline to acidic. As Dr. Robert O. Young says so eloquently in his book, Sick and Tired? Reclaim Your Inner Terrain: “There is only one physiological disease – the over-acidification of the body, due primarily to an inverted way of eating and living. This over-acidification leads to the one sickness, or primary symptom – the overgrowth in the body of microorganisms, whose poisons produce the symptoms we call ‘diseases’.”

Over the last fifty years the percentage of Americans suffering with poor health has never been greater. A large part of this is linked to our turning away from an agrarian society where we lived closer to the land and ate pure, wholesome foods fresh from the field that were highly nourishing and alkalizing to the body. Instead, most of us are living in concrete jungles away from the farm and we’re consuming an overabundance of processed, packaged, refined, unnatural, acidic foods and drinking sugar-laden, chemically laced, carbonated beverages that are highly damaging and acidifying to our bodies.

The key to health is maintaining a proper pH – with the understanding that no pathogens are capable of existing or replicating. We have been taught to believe that germs cause disease, when the truth is disease causes germs. Pathogens do not attack healthy cells and tissue.

According to Dr. John Christopher, the father of modern herbology, “The germ is the scavenger that lives on toxins, mucous, poisons and filth. They are nature’s perfect garbage men. We should work with them, not against them. With most incubation they multiply faster and faster. To live they must eat, and the only thing they consume is the filth of the body. When all the garbage is cleaned up, they leave because they have nothing more to live on.”

If you’d like to get off the merry-go-round of poor health, or if you’d like to maintain a high state of health throughout your life, then it’s time you try a different approach. Regulating the body’s pH is leading to a paradigm shift in medical science. In a world burdened with sickness and disease, we can no longer afford to ignore the potential this biology can have on our health.

Regulating pH and making lasting changes in your life requires an overhaul of your diet and a thorough cleansing phase that focuses on removing unwanted acids and toxins from the body. Some of the protocols that can go a long way in alkalizing the body back to a state of homeostasis are:

1. Cleansing & Detoxifying: Cleansing and detoxifying your body of unwanted waste is the best way to begin correcting pH imbalances. There are many ways to detoxify and cleanse the body, but the four most important areas of the body that need to be detoxified periodically are the colon, liver, kidneys and lymphatic system.

2. De-acidifying: To de-acidify the body you have to shut down the consumption of foods and beverages that are acidic and destroying your health. All of the detoxification measures in the world won’t be able to stop your pH from being acidic if you continue to shove acids down your throat meal after meal and drink upon drink.

3. Oxygenating: Oxygen depravation at the blood and cellular levels is a major factor in disease. Low oxygen levels almost always accompany an acidic body. Low oxygen levels allow microorganisms to breed and thrive because they are anaerobic, meaning they survive where oxygen is low. Oxygen has been called the breath of God and is known to be the most powerful cleansing and detoxification agent in the universe. Some of the things that can be done to oxygenate the body are: drinking fresh chlorophyll rich vegetable juices, exercising more regularly, using deep breathing techniques, incorporating oxygen supplements, using negative ion air purifiers, using essential oils and aromatherapy, using massage therapy and reflexology techniques to stimulate blood flow and circulation.

4. Fixing Nutritional Deficiencies: Most people are suffering with severe nutritional deficiencies from poor diets, poor supplementation, and many environmental factors they have little to no control over. You must stop eating all of the lifeless, de-mineralized, devitalized, dead processed foods. You are slowly digging your grave with your teeth if you don’t. You need to supply your body daily with an array of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, essential fatty acids and phytonutrients that come from living foods, not synthetic, over the counter pills that your body can’t break down or utilize.

5. Drinking Alkaline Water: Drinking alkaline water is probably the quickest and most effective way to change the body’s pH and reverse acidosis, dehydration, and free radical damage in the body. Alkaline water will hydrate, detoxify, and oxygenate your cells and act as a liquid antioxidant to neutralize harmful free radicals like nothing you’ve ever used before. There are two ways to obtain alkaline water. One is to purchase some of the bottled waters on the market that have a pH value above 7.5. The other way is to make it yourself by purchasing a good alkaline water ionizer that hooks up to your sink faucet. The way an alkaline water ionizer works is two-fold. First, tap water is brought into the machine and run through a filtration process to remove most of the chemicals that don’t belong there. Then the water is run through an electrolysis process containing a positive and negative conductor inside the machine. The result of this electrolysis process is separation and concentration of alkaline and acidic minerals. The alkaline minerals are pulled to one side and used to alter the pH of the water, while the acidic minerals are safely removed from an exit hose. During this separation process the cluster size of the water is reduced in size making it what is known as “wetter water” because it will hydrate the cells much better. This is why you may hear the terms “restructured” or “clustered” water. The electrolysis process also puts high amounts of negative hydrogen ions into the water, making it a powerful antioxidant within the body. There are numerous water ionizers on the market, but the best units come from Japan.

Take Charge of Your Health By Alkalizing Your Body

If you understand the acid/alkaline balance as it relates to illness and health, you will no longer have any fear of acute or chronic illness. The truth is that the appearance of disease and the severity of disease symptoms are totally dependent upon the general health of the host. The chief indicator of general health is pH—high pH means your cells are being oxygenated and they are able to take in nutrients, excrete waste, perform their intended function and are not vulnerable to infection; low pH means your cells are being deprived of oxygen, they are not properly taking in nutrients or efficiently excreting waste, they are not able to perform their intended function and are vulnerable to infection.

The Bible tells us that the life of the flesh is in the blood (Lev. 17:11). Without blood continuously pumping through our entire circulatory network every second of every day, we’d be dead. Scientifically we know that a constant battle to maintain balanced pH is taking place both within and out of our cells, our body fluids, and our blood at all times. If we take care of our body and feed it the proper nutrition and water, its pH levels take care of themselves, as automatically as the heart pumps blood.

By ingesting, drinking and exposing ourselves to an array of toxic acids that contaminate the blood, and by depleting the soil of alkaline minerals through conventional (non-organic) farming practices, we’re disrupting our pH balance and destroying our health in the process. Knowing the important role pH plays in the body, it’s disturbing to see so many people abusing themselves by contaminating their bodies and blood with an overabundance of acidic compounds.

Conclusion

The battle between life and death and the struggle of humanity’s sickness is over pH. As long as there is sufficient alkaline potential in the body from good water and a well balanced diet and all of the elimination routes are open (colon, liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, etc…), cell-damaging acids can be safely neutralized and excreted from the body before cellular damage takes place. If we consume high alkaline forming organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and legumes grown on rich topsoil and avoid the acid landmines as much as humanly possible, we can properly alkalize the body and stay healthy.

The time is right for a paradigm shift to intelligent self-care and learning the divine mechanisms behind God’s magnificent, self-healing system. We need a new level of understanding about the body’s own inherent, innate ability to heal. It’s time for a real wake-up call to the true causes of all disease and the direct enemies of self-healing.
